Give more and receive more...

The more love you give, the more love you get! Here is a list of charities that would love to receive help this holiday season:

SENT FROM EBOVE: Sent from ebove is an online service connecting people in need with those who can help.
A WISH COME TRUE: A Wish Come True, Inc. is a local nonprofit organization founded in 1982 that grants wishes to medically qualified children ages 3 through 18, who have a life-threatening illness and live in Rhode Island and areas of Southeastern Massachusetts.
TOYS FOR TOTS: Donate a new toy or give a donation to help make Christmas a little brighter for a needy child in your community.
ALTERNATIVE GIFTS INTERNATIONAL: The global mission of AGI is to send authentic, life-giving gifts to a needy world - gifts that build a partnership with people in crisis and that protect and preserve the earth's endangered environment.
ANGEL TREE: Angel Tree is a ministry of Prison Fellowship, delivering love in the form of Christmas gifts and a message of hope to children of prisoners.
CHRISTMAS CARD AID: Card Aid provides a unique service to charities and the general public to ensure that the profits from charity Christmas cards go to charity.
CHRISTMAS SPIRIT FOUNDATION: Help needy children and families in the United States during the holiday season, and promote environmental stewardship throughout the year.
HOLIDAY PROJECT: The Holiday Project's mission is to enrich the experience of the holidays by arranging visits to people confined to nursing homes, hospitals and other institutions

MY TWO FRONT TEETH: My Two Front Teeth offers a personalized online gift-giving experience to aid underprivileged children. These children are selected through community organizations and allowed to individually pick their one holiday wish.

Fill your cup...

If your cup is half empty and you don't take time to fill it up, not only will you have nothing to give to others, you yourself will be empty. Take time to fill your own cup and let everyone else have what overflows. By taking care of yourself, you end up having much more to offer others, and everyone gets to feel full and happy.

Don't lose a moment...

Plans worth making are plans worth keeping. Don't lose a moment, you will never get it back.

Don't repair your roof in the rain!

The best time to repair your roof is on a nice sunny day, NOT in the rain. So many times we wait until we are in crisis to work on ourselves. If you have a fear of flying, you don't wait til you are on the plane to try and overcome it. Get some help and face those challenges so you can get on the plane without fear! When you are feeling great and full of confidence, that is the best time to do some self reflection and work on any challenges you face.
Trying to repair your roof in the rain often only leads to an old tarp with some tires on it rather than nice new, strong shingles.

Building yourself...

There are two ways to have the biggest building in a city, you can either tear down everyone elses or you can build your own. The same is true when building yourself. Make yourself a big, wonderfully designed building with all the bells and whistles. Do not put others down in an attempt to make yourself feel better than you are. Not only does this tear down others, but it leaves you standing all alone.

Share happiness...

"Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared." ~Buddha

What I learned from real estate...

In real estate, it is better to own the worst house on a great street as opposed to owning the best house on a bad street. You can always improve your house on the great street and your value will increase but no matter how much you do to the great house on the bad street, your value will never go up.
This is also true in life. I have learned that it is better to surround yourself with positive people who are where you want to be rather than with people who are negative and always going backwards.
Sometimes we need to raise our own standards, challenge ourselves and rise up to higher expectations!

Whats the difference between living & existing?

Answer: Emotion

I have heard so many women lately saying that they are walking through life without feeling a thing. They have become numb to life. They are so numb that they do not feel anger, love, passion, sadness, joy, and most times they do not even realize they are in this state.
We have to remember every single day to smile, laugh, cry, yell, breathe, love, and to just feel passion. Make a list of what makes you happy, if you don't remember, think about what used to make you happy. Let the list act as a guide and start doing the things that create joy.
Also remember, as women we give give give and sometimes forget to give to ourselves. Remember to fill your cup first and let everyone else have what flows over. If your cup is half empty, you have less to give others and less leftover for you.

You don't know what you missed.....

January's meeting was great! We talked about setting realistic goals, we discussed happiness and how to attain it, we also talked about finding joy and relaxation techniques.

So many times we as women forget to take care of ourselves. We are so focused on our kids, spouse, job, friends and so many other things that we forget to remember what makes us happy and to pursue it.

Remember the 3 things that will get you back into a peak state:

1 Focus- focus on more positive empowering things
2 Phsyiology- stand up straight, smile, be alert
3 Language- use empowering words, never name call, say "yes"

So curl up with a cup of tea in your coziest sweatpants and read a great book! Think about the ways to relax and improve your life. Most of all.... enjoy life!
